We are located in a quiet scenic spot about 1 mile outside the Easter Ross town of Alness in The Scottish Highlands, so ideal for those wishing to enjoy the amazing NC500 route. The Little Hut is ‘semi’ off grid glamping, so you WILL have electric power. You will also have all the essentials for a comfortable stay from a cozy double bed with all the bedding to a separate composting toilet next door to the hut, which is heated and provides hot hand washing facilities. There is also a shower??
The setting is beautiful with the glen and rolling hills on 3 sides of the Little Hut where you’ll have a small secluded garden with some seating and a table for 2.
Alness is well served by a variety of local shops and businesses including supermarkets, Pharmacies and take away food establishments. So it is a super base to explore the NC500 and other Highland treats.

There is no running water within the hut but water for filling the kettle and drinking water is provided and the shower shack is hot gas powered. We provide a simple breakfast, including a choice of tea / coffee , brown or white bread for toast, a selection of preserves , butter ,croissants and a choice of cereals ( please let us know if you require Gluten free options or if you have any allergies). There is a DVD player with a selection of films for you to enjoy a cosy evening on cooler days and a selection of books too , and a radio / Bluetooth speaker. There is a “ Things to do and see “ folder for you to look through as a guide to local facilities and places to go and a list of useful telephone numbers. There is no Wi Fi but a good 4g signal from most networks and a double USB plug to charge your devices
At The Little Hut you are pretty much right on the NC500 which makes day trips to all the attractions possible – so this is a great base. Here are some particularly interesting options lwhich are nearby….
